The ancient Orthodox Church of Turz was built by Greek-Catholic believers in 1836. The church with a single ship and a tower became Orthodox when the Greek-Catholic religion was banned by the Communists. In the period 1961-1962 the church underwent a capital repair.
Then the four counters were built, and the bells were lowered from the tower and placed in a bell tower. After 89, the Greek Catholics could not regain the church. New churches were built in the locality, one for Greek Catholics and another for Orthodox, and the old church remained in the cradle. There was no money to repair it! Until the church was built, new Orthodox have arranged a church church in the church ship. The then iconostasis is now in the new church.
