The Borcut Valley in the mining village, belonging to Baia Mare, has now become its neighborhood. His name comes from the Bokút mineral springs in Hungarian. The village is documented in 1493 when it belonged to the city of Seini. In 1909 he belonged to Baia Mare. Prospered early twentieth century, when in 1902 pokol Elek (Alexius) extracted from the mine Leopold 4000 kg of gold. The whole village lived in bonanza and pokol overnight became rich and influential. His castle resisted the time, as did the church he built.
