Believers in Lapus had two wooden churches, the top of the nobles, built in 1697, visible today, and the lower, younger, demolished. Instead it was built between 1896 and 1902 this wall church. During the Communists, like others, this church passed to the Orthodox.
Church size 30x15 m covered with iron and the tower are three bells over 100 years, the only ones left from the time of Greek Catholics. In 2011 the interior was re-painted by Iuga Alin, and the iconostasis was made by Coroiu Gheorghe from Groșii Țibleșului. The porch was built in 1986.
