Map of Bicaz: Wooden church
The wooden church from Bicaz was built in 1723 by the 40th existing families at that time from the village. The founder was Popa Vasiliu and as a gratitude for that his face appears on the nave's wall of the altar.
The wooden materia was obtained from Valea Oașului forest. The church has shingle roof from which the tower with sharp spire is rising. In the tower there are two bells made in XVIII century, one has 50kg and the other has 25 kg.
The entrance door's decoration frame is very beautyful decorated with the rope's motif, rosettes and geometric figures and models aplied on the decoration frame of the passing from the pronave through nave.
The interior painting was made in around 1780 when all the churches fom the area were painted. In the pronave the Judgement is presented and in the nave there are biblic scenes.
The iconostasis is decorated with royal icons and in the top side there are the Apostles and in the middle The Savior. On the altar's table stone leg is engraved the year of the construction, in Slavonic.
