Monument with three crosses was erected in 1966 at the fork to Harghita Bai road DN13, atop mountains Harghita at the turn of river Olt and Mures, where in 1567 the battle between Prince Sigismund, propagator reform Catholics in the Ciuc area. The victorious Catholics ensured the preservation of Catholicism in the Ciuc and Gheorgheni depressions, and for the commemoration of the event the pilgrimages to Sumulum began.
The Middle Cross, the highest one, commemorates the dismantling of the Hungarians in 896, but also the events of 1956 and 1989. The inscription "Csiksomlyó 1442", which can be read on the westward cross, marks the emergence of Catholicism in Sumuleu Ciuc by the arrival of the first Franciscan monks, and the construction of the first church and monasteries. The inscription "Márton Áron 1896" commemorates the date of the birth of the famous Catholic bishop of Transylvania. There are numerous tourist routes that lead to the area's attractions on the Tolvaios Plateau.
