The church in Floresti was built at the beginning of the 15th century, with the help of the Bethlen family, then the town's owner. This event also marks the plate that is built on the left of the altar, and can be read the figure 1424. The altar made in the 16th century can be seen in the museum in Sighisoara. The current altar was built in 1899, but the organ was also built at the end of the 19th century.
The church with a wooden bell tower was destroyed in the fire of 1788. It was rebuilt in 1790-1792 by the Saxon communes. After the Saxon exodus, the church remained in the cradle. It was restored by the Mihai Eminescu Trust, supported by the Dutch Hoirozont Foundation.
