Map of Bazna

The famous bathing-resort, Bazna is lying between hills. Its thermal water is suited for helping cure different affections like breathing, digestive, rheumatic, orthopedic and genital problems. It helps nervous system affections. Andreas Gaspari, between 1762-1779, started examining the thermal spa's healing effects. In 1814 the evangelical church started developing the spa, in 1843 an association takes over the management of the place. In 1949 the Healthcare Minister turns it into a curer center.
The Bazna salt is made by volatilization of the water containing potassium, sulphate, magnesium, calcium, iodide and brome. The mud brought from the bottom of the lake contains high organic and mineral-bearing. On the north-eastern part of the thermal spa you can find the Crater lake which came into being in 1914, when a gas-searcher caved in. The firedamp from the lake made it into a tourist attraction.
