Map of Şurdeşti
Town surrounded by forests and mountains Șurdești is attested from 1411. By the early twentieth century belonged to the treasury Baia Mare and Baia Sprie. On the territory of the village there are two wooden churches. Most famous church tower is 54 m, included in the UNESCO list, but the cemetery church is the older with 100 years.
