On the outskirts of Medieșu Aurit there is an archaeological site on a surface of 0.25 ha where you can see Dacian furnaces 2000 years old. Archaeological researches began in 1964, discovering 7 ceramic kiln furnaces from the 2nd to 4th centuries AD. In 2011, geomagnetic measurements were carried out, as a result of which it is estimated that there would be approx. 200 furnaces. A real field of shards has been identified.
Ovens with a diameter of over two meters are 50-60 cm below the ground and used to burn large pots. It is the largest concentration of ceramic workshops in all Dacian space and one of the largest in Europe.
