Map of Ilişua: Gencsi manor

The Gencsis appear in 1586 on the landlords' list from Ilișua and reappears in the second half of XVII century when they hold the entire village for 150 years. The spectacular manor situated beside the reformed church was probably built in XVIII century.
The state institutions which moved here because of the nationalization left the building to slowly deteriorate itself.
After 1989 the building became again private property the owner invested huge amounts of money for its restoration.
We hope that one day this wonderful building will shine again with all its past splendour.
