Map of Tăşnad: Reformed church

The medieval church of Tășnad town was built in XV century, finished in 1476. The works were financed by László Geréb of Vingart, bishop of Alba Iulia, King Matias Corvin's relative. In XVII century the church was synods' deployment.
At the beginning the church was Romano-catholic, but in XVI century it was taken by the Christians who passed in great number to reformed religion. During the Turkish attack in 1660 the building was seriously damaged and burnt. The church wasn't used for almost 100 years.
A wooden church was built which functioned up until 1770, finalization of medieval church's renovation. The tower was built during 1814-1822 and has two bells made in 1843 and 1823. The pulpit was made in 1837 and the organ in 1871 by Loyl József from Viena.
