The little locality Valea Morii belonging to Tășad was established in 1759 when a few families of serfs were moved here to guard the mill. In 1847 the inhabitants' number reached 253 Greco Catholics.
Their church was built in 1882 of wood, it burnt and on its place the present church was built of stone and which became orthodox. Just for the reason that the interior scenery was kept, it was declared monument.
