1325, the year in which Gârbou locality appears for the first time in documents. Is a welcoming village with hospitable people, Romanian nationality, who keeps alive the memory of Hungarian cohabitants. They know where is the baptistery remained from the medieval church, Romano-catholic, haven't touched the tombstones which are in the top's hill, get sad when telling about the Hungarian disappearance from the locality. They show you the place where the church was, where the Hungarian were gathered and killed with the gun. They tell about the thick coat of bones discovered at digging of a foundation. There's no monument, no tombstones and this terrible event still lives alive in people's memory passed over from father to son. The village was once called Hungarian Gâbău, no soul speaks Hungarian!
