Treznea locality was named probably after the lightning which destroyed the forest owner's house which occupied the entire present locality's surface. The locality's Hungarian name of Ördögkút (The devil's fountain) comes from the owner's name but today there is a fountain which has the name of Devil's fountain. The locality dates since 1440. In that year the locality belonged to the Dobokais. From touring point of view Treznea situates at the Meseș hill's lap, near Treznea valley the waterfalls can be visited and in the locality's centre the Bay castle.
