Map of Almaşu: Csaky castle

The Csákys began the construction of the castle or Csáky manor in XIX century. Their ancestors reached these lands in 1594 when Prince Báthory Zsigmond gave the Almaș estate to the chief of Ardelean army Csáky István.
His followers in 1808 started the manor's construction, which by its size, estate's dimension strewn with appendixes buildings became the biggest manor in Călatei County.
At construction they included more stones even sculpted ones from Almașu stronghold. Appendixes buildings were knock down, the manor got worse. Even knocked down it impresses us with its size.
