Map of Cuceu: Orthodox church
The orthodox church of Cuceu locality was built in 1852-1885 on a wooden church's place. The construction materials obtained from its demolition were used for the present church. In 1882 there was an earthquake and the church suffered damages.
In 1977 it was totally repaired. The foundation was strengthened, the walls were raised with 3 m, the chorus was built and the porch and the roof as well were covered with high quality iron. For the protection of some areas there were mounted wrought iron decorations.
In this period the painting was repaired. The work was handed to the painter Viorel Nimigeanu who worked for two years, during September 1979 - August 1981.
