Map of Letca: Wooden church
The wooden church from Letca locality known as the villains' church was built in 1665. It has a rectangular plan with the dimensions of 9X4 m with belfry tower with turret and opened gallery and on the apex there is a little tower with decorative role.
From the pronave you can reach in the church or through a carved scale in a tree's trunk in the attic. The partition between the nave and pronave is intact and once was beautifully decorated. The nave has arched ceiling and it was painted in 1806 by Pricop Zugravu.
Unfortunately the painting is almost entirely destroyed by unfavorable weather. The restoration works aimed only paintings' conservation. In the nave there are scenes from the Lord's life and biblical scenes. In a rare encountered painting a red dragon with seven heads and horns and a long tail is stridden by a woman with a sword and a cup. The passing from the nave in the altar's apse is made through the royal doors (right) and deacon's doors. The royal doors are decorated with vine, clusters and saints figures and they have in the bottom side the name of the donor, among the figures there is Saint Grigore the Theologian. In Letca there was a second wooden church belonging to the nobles, it was moved in 1991 in Oradea
