Map of Piroşa: Wooden church
The wooden church from Piroșa raised many controversy in what regards its date of construction. According to the inscription it was built in 1862, but according to other considerations in 1868, but the renovation inscription from the nave indicates 1862.
Starting from this clue and from the reduce dimensions of the construction (11X4 m) the historians reached the conclusion that it was built in XVII century. Initially it was covered with shingle, first the tower and turret's roof was covered with iron and afterwards the entire roof. The porch with huge pillars was added at the beginning of XIX century. In 1971 the original painting was whitewashed.
