Map of Poieniţa: Wooden church
The wooden church from Poienița was probably built in XVIII century because in 1863 were made the renovation works. The old ones tell that before the existence of this church here was an older one which burnt. In 1863 the turret was added to the tower and the interior was painted.
The porch with carved pillars was built on the west wall of the sanctuary. The original painting from 1863 was covered in 1991 with gypsum boards over which the present painting was made. From the iconostasis only the top side was kept, the bottom side was changed
