Map of Surduc: Jósika family crypt

The Jósikas' crypt from Surduc built by writer Jósika Miklós in his father's memory on the rock where voivode Rákoczi Ferenc IInd had his last lunch in Transylvania with Csáky István.
Crypt built in 1825 after one year from writer father's death is situated on a rock located above the road. On its wall can be read: PARENTI OPTIMO PIETAS PROCULIUM POSUIT ANO. MDCCCXXVII-mo. Inscription belongs to Cluj sculptor, originary from Debrecen, Hirschfeld Friedrich, made in 1828. Initially, in emptied, robbed crypt were three cast iron coffins, two had windows.
The elderly tell that in childhood through these windows they admired ladies' beautiful dresses. Walls were kept but entrance needs urgent repairs or risks to collapse together with support columns.
