In 1759, under the patronage of Metropolitan Jacob, Wooden Houses for Monks and Abbots are built in Putna Monastery, as well as a wooden chapel. Between 1852 and 1856, a tower and a bell tower demolished during the earthquake of 1739.
Both were built in the era of Stephen the Great. At the same time other buildings were demolished, even the wooden chapel built in 1759. In their place were erected new buildings, a provisional bell tower, and a new chapel, on the western side of the monastery. The interior painting was carried out between 1980 and 1984 by painters Mihail and Gavril Morosan.
