In 1793 the serbian orthodox church was constructed in Pojejena. This date can be read on the small table of marble being put out on the wall of the church. According to old documentation beautiful iconography existed here until the mid 20th century when the church being refurbished lost some of them, but constructing a new chapel with the help of the architects from Resita was a very good advantage indeed. The sculptor was Iosif Bosioc and the painter Franz Fehr. The church with the parts of Saint Gabriel and Saint Angel were common places for prayer, for both serbians and romanians up to 1892, when two different and separated churches and villages were formed. There we can still find about 30 books religious ones from the 18th century.
