Map of Lazuri gorge: Gruet cave

Gruet, Gruiețului or Grust cave is situated on the left side of the Șteaza valley.
The cave has a large, around 15m wide and 8m high portal. The main gallery is 50m long and has a vault with limestone or calcium carbonate concretions. On the left side there are thick carbonate columns that touch the ceiling.
The water flows from the left, the part where the gallery becomes narrower, and also lower; and it ends with a siphon. More narrow galleries and funnels can be seen.
Great attention in rainy weather, the level of the water from the caves increases considerably, on the wall one can see a black streak which indicates the height the water can reach.
