The secular oak of Remetea, Quercus Robur, is one of the larges species in Romania, wich may grov actively for 200 years and whose lifespan can reach 500-600 years. Together with another tree of its kind, wich destroyed in the meantime it was declared monument. This oak tree nas 170 cm in diameter, 25 m in height, and is approximately 400 years old.
It is the last tree from an old and wikeoak forest that used to connect the villages Meziad, with Meziad cave, and Remetea wirth old Reformed church, and it has now become a real emblem of Remetea commune.
