It's situated at a distance of 25 km far from Oradea and it's the fisher's haven. The surface populated by fish is over 600 hectares. The first fishponds were built up in 1905 as a result of the building of the Collector Channel (1982 - 1899) what could assure the water volume needed for fish breeding. The building up of the water farm extended on a long period of time, the last fishponds being built only in about 1940-1942.
In the period 1962 - 1963 there were allocated amounts for investments what made the rebuilding and the extension of the water farm possible touching 630 hectares. In the period of 1986 - 1989 through rebuilding works put in production a surface of 100 ha isles infested with cane and bulrush.
Starting from these considerations, the Cefa Natural Park, which covers an area of 5002 hectares, including the Radvani Forest, was set up in 2006 and steps are being taken to make this park a protected natural area. At present, the fishponds are privately owned.
