Map of Şiria

The settlement is mentioned in documents from the XIV century. Over Stiria it can be seen the ruins and under the fortress hill it can be visited the Bohus castle. Near the castle there is the monument of Antonia Bohus known for the support she had given to the gaoled revolutioners after 1849. The present Orthodox Church it situated on the place of the late wooden church from 1755 and it has an iconostasis with paintings from 1789. Siria trots out with an important event: it was proclaimed here in 1848 for the first time in the county the abolishment of corves.
3 km far from Siria is the spring Tamaduirii famous for its healing water. Near the spring is the Feredeu Monastery.
