The Tropics of the Căprioarelor Valley, in the form of huge rock balls, are evidence of the existence of an ancient sea. Sand cemented by calcareous waters around a core, through a continuous rolling has reached today's dimensions.
They can range from a nut size to a few tons of weight. Unfortunately, their number is steadily decreasing because greedy people carry these rarities to decorate houses. The valley is a landscaping reserve, and thanks to its ancient and rare plant area it is also a botanical reservation.
