This location made the Romans settle here already since the II-IIIth century, and during history this place represented many noble men's assessment. Its castle had many times been the place were the Transylvanian lords gathered to decide on important things. The castle was already here in 1545, Mihály Apafi II, chosen monarch of Transylvania, also lived here. In the second half of the XVIIIth century the Snake-house with snake decorations, sign taken from the escutcheon of the bethleni Bethlen family, was built. The reformed, old catholic, church was built in 1486.
