Șapte Scări (Seven Stairs) is a canyon equipped with iron ladders, with different tilt levels, mounted to facilitate the passage of the jumpers characteristic of a canyon. It is a gorge situated in the western part of the Piatra Mare Mountains, with access from DN1 between Timișul de Sus and Săcele.
The yellow-marked route tracks Sipoaia, crosses wooded areas, some fields and key areas. Before the first stairwell there is a small haven for a small hike after the road that has passed here 1 1 / 2-2 hours.
There is also a notice board where we can find out before starting this section with stairs has a length of 160 m and a difference of 56m. The first stage of the waterfall has a height of 8m, followed by another 6 steps, the highest having approx. 35 m.
In winter, when the stairs are frozen, the risk of slip and injury is very high, it is best to plan the summer trip. Climbing these stairs can continue the route to Chalet Piatra Mare (about 2 hours). To return, after a few minutes this route meets the red dot marking that overlooks the canyon, then intersects the yellow strip, which you get back to the starting point of the route.
