Map of Făgăraş mountains: Victoria-Podragu chalet through La Şipot

The blue-marked route runs alongside the red triangle from Victoria, and leads us to the former chemical compound. We arrive on a forest road, which we descend to the Ucea Mare meadow, cross the Ucea river, pass the park with solar panels and leave us the red triangle:
We go past a few houses, follow the trails for 2,5 kilometers when our road turns into a path. We go through a number of clearings until we reach the place called La Șipot (1470m.)
We go trough an area covered by juniper trees, we go round on the west side Boldeanu (1679) and Baba (1962m) peaks, and exit on the Baba pass (1920m.) We go round most of the peaks on our way.
After passing by Lespezilor peak (1950m) and Afundatura or Custura pass we go around the area between Edelweis and Custura. We first descend and than a short winding road takes us back to the earlier heights A real alpine area follows, out path crosses the rocky ridge, it takes us up two peaks and then to a third which offers us a beautiful view of the mountains far and nearby.
We descend into Calea Carelor ridge (2190m) and continue descending into Podgaru deep valley. Once reaching Lake Podragu an easy ascent takes us to Podragu chalet (2136m.)
