Map of Retezat mountains: Scurtele waterfall

Scurtele waterfall is the highest and least known waterfall in Romania. It forms on the Scurtele brook that flows from the Scurtele Lake, located below the Scurte peak (2157m), in the vicinity of the Gugu peak, Godeanu Mountains, on the western edge of the Retezat Natural Park.
It is less well-known because it is very difficult to access, there is no bookmark, not even a path. The photos are made with the drones, or the Promontana explorers team, which escalated the cascade to the upper heat in the conditions of total wilderness, to confirm the status of the highest waterfall in Romania. Thus, according to the measurements made with the altimeter from the base of the waterfall to the last upper level, the level difference is 293m, between the altitudes 1322 - 1615 m. Cascade waters flow into Lapusnicul Mic, reach Lapusnicul Mare and Gura Apelor Lake.
Marking appears only if the people from Retezat National Park and Mount Rescue will agree, and will be homologous the route.
