Nagykalota: Ortodox templom (térkép)
Nagykalota temploma 1815-ben épült, a Sebes Körösbe ömlő Kalota patak jobb partjára. A templom román stílusban épült, kőfalainak vastagsága 1-1,5 m. Az 1848-as forradalom idején, amikor az egész települést felgyújtotta a magyar hadsereg, a templom is leégett.
Csupán a falak élték túl a hatalmas tüzet. 1851-ben renoválták az épületet, újra építették a tornyot és újrafedték a templomot. Új harangokat vásároltak. Ehhez a hívek segítséget kaptak I. Ferenc Ausztria-Magyarország császártól. Az ikonosztázt 1871-ben újították fel.
Többszöri belső és külső felújítás nyomán a jelenleg látható belső festmények 2001-ben készültek, a bánffyhunyadi Paul Bătăiosu és három tanoncának munkája.
