Lupsa: Kőtemplom (térkép)

A nagylupsai Szentgyörgy templomot a Cândea kenéz családja (más források szerint Stănislav kenéz) alapította. 1421-ben, újabb kutatások szerint 1366-1377 között épült és ezzel Mócföld legrégibb kőtemploma. Egy földhalom tetejére épült, csarnok szerkezete van.
A templom két szakaszban épült fel: 1421-ben készült el a hajó és az oltár, 1810-ben pedig az előcsarnok és a torony. 1810-1813 között alakították ki a az oltár boltívét, és az új ikonosztázt.
A templomot először a XV-XVII században borították festmények. 1750-ben a hajót brâncovenesc stílusban festették ki, majd 1810-ben a templom bővítés alkalmával készültek el azok a festmények, amelyek ma is láthatóak a templom falán.
Fennmaradtak még a XV században készült festett szentképek és több régi könyv is, köztük az 1640-ben nyomtatott Belgrádi Újtestamentum.
A templom restaurálása folyamatban van, ezért nem látogatható.
