Map of Sighiştel: The Măgura Cave

Măgura Cave is to be found in the right part of Sighiștel valley. The path leading to it nstarts from the narrow entrance.
The length of the stalactite cave is 1500m, a true huge nicely ornamented labyrinth. Its measures are amazing. Its most famous creature is the palm-tree, at the west part of the cave, a huge pillar with a baldachin umbrella at the top
In the west part of it we can find a wet part. In case of rainy weather humidity increases and the limestones are flooded. From the Bears` passage we can get to the Scăldătoarea Urșilor through a small and rising channel. There is a lake in the small hall, on the walls we can still see the marks of claw of the bear who lived here.
The cave is not enlighted, so we need to bring some light with. For walking around the west part of it we need 10m long ropes for climbing and rubber boots. As it is a big labyrinth we should take an inhabitant with us.
