The remnants of the XIII century Princely Court are located in the city centre. The square area is surrounded by stone walls. Only two cellars are left from the buildings. Archeologist findings have proved that the buildings follow the model of the old, peasant homes, having a cellar, ground floor and a porch. The northern house was voivode Neagoe Basarab's home, the other one was Basarab I's. The Princely Court was modified around 1330, when the Princely church was under construction.
