Map of Chieşd: Kemeny manor

At Chieșd were two mansions. In 1646 locality's landlord Losonci Bánffy Zsuzsanna, born Sarmasági, had finaciary problems, lost the estate including Chieșd's stronghold in favour of baron Kemény János of Gyerőmonostor. Next years The Keménys enlarged the estate.
In 1646 bought the estates from Chieșd, from Mrs. Sarmasági Anna, in 1647 got from Rákóczi György Ist those parts from Chieșd estate which remained from grof Sarmasági György because he had no son. Baron heirs came rarely at Chieșd ahd thus when writer Petri Mor passed by in 1900 found only the mansion-castle remains built by baron Kemény Árpád. Local community rebuilt the mansion which hostes Community centre, a bar arranged in the arched bassement.
