Map of Ţicău: Pechy castle

At thebegining of XIX century Țicău's estate was property of Tholdi Zsigmond. After his death and a scandalous process of succession between his sons, the estate was bought by Péchy Zsigmond who made here a beautiful castle surrounded by a park become today a history.
After the nationalization the Agricultural Cooperative transformed the free surface in arable field and the castle had gradually deteriorated, finally it disappeared in a few days as a result of fast action and only an annex building remained. The neighbours tell that in 2010 the Gypsies appeared with carts and they sustained that they had the Mayor's approval so they demolished the castle. It is not important if the reports are real or not... The question is where were those from the protection of monuments, police, and local authorities? Nobody knows. The lonely entrance near the road could tell! Creeping through the bushes and cornfields we succeded to photograph the remainings of the wall, what was left after the vandalism.
