Map of Forţeni: Reformed church

The Gothic church in Forțeni dates from the middle of the 15th century. It was built by Catholics but has been renovated and modified several times. From that period there are still a sanctuary window frame stone sacristy door in the north wall and two chivoturi ribbed vaulted ceiling.
As a result of the Reformation, the faithful and the church switched to the Reformed. As the church was attacked several times and was damaged by an earthquake, the current nave was built in 1629, and the tower between 1827 and 1839. The nave is separated from the sanctuary by an arch.
From 1629 the ceiling of the nave is covered with boxes with floral motifs, made by Eferházi Képíró János. The pulpit was built in 1747, the crown with the swan feeding its sons in 1763. The lord's table was made in 1890.
In 1968, fragments of medieval frescoes were discovered on the east wall of the nave. There are undiscovered murals under the plaster of the northern wall of the sanctuary. The organ was built in 1814 and rebuilt in 1896 by the Csioflek brothers from Brasov. In 1896, documents written on leather were found in the sphere of the tower. Between 1968 and 1969 the church received a tin roof. Two of the three bells in the tower were taken in World War I and later replaced.
