Catholic elementary school was founded in 1875 donated by Bishop Mihály Fogarasy. Land donated school boys Orbán Lakatos family secured the functioning of the school. The school library was founded in 1891 by the donation of 24 books by the parish priest from Nicolești Bálint Lázár.
The four-grade school was built in 1912 on the Orbán estate with the significant support of Orban Otto, Balázs' younger brother. For this reason, the former school is called the Orbán mansion, with two plaques on its wall.
Plates remind us of the writer, collector ethnographic Parliament and member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The Orbán Balázs Memorial Room operates in one of the rooms. Orbán Balázs (1829-1890) was born in Poland. The cellar ceiling under the building has small arches.
