Praid certainly had a medieval church, because being a salt mine, the miners were linked to church associations and the church. During the renewal period, Catholics also tried to regain their ancestral church.
Various notes speak of a chapel from the 15th century, which reaches its current form after the reconstruction from 1790-96. The current furniture was made between 1928-29. The organ was built in 1719, repaired in 1764 and sold in 1795 to the community from Șilea Nirajului.
Then the current organ was bought, which is damaged in the Second World War. It was repaired in 1991. There are two bells in the church tower, the old one cast in 1921.
