Gherța Mica is a city documented in 1711. Rodion Markovits, famous son of the village became famous novel entitled garrison in Siberia, where prisoners of war recounts life. The work has been translated into 14 languages. The Orthodox Church, originally Greek-Catholic, was built at the end of the 19th century.
