Horea is at the confluence of the Arză and Albac valleys. Attested for the first time in 1733, it belonged to the River Mare, later to the Albac commune. In 1924, with 15 villages, it became the Arada commune, and since 1968 it has been named Horea. There is something unusual here: while the new church erected on the top of a hill is bathed in the limelight every night, a jewelery of the craftsmen of Trascau, the church of St. Archangel, built between 1847-1848, is left in the middle.
The church, which houses the bell of the old wooden church, cast in 1776, is closed and completely abandoned. In the village of Fericet was born in 1930 Nicola Ursu (Horea), in memory of him was arranged memorial house. In Horea you can also visit the motif and the ethnographic museum.
