The first documents of this village are from the year 1690, and this was called Racasdia in those times. Later, Carol II and the Mihai Princip paid a short visit here in 1933.
There began the construction of a cultural centre, or house, having the first stone put by the king himself, who supported the constructions with further sums of money. The first church was of wood, constructed in 1733, and the other one, which we can see nowadays, constructed of stone was built between 1770-78. We can visit the following tourist places in the village.
