The name of the village comes from the otter (vidra) population (lutra vulgaris) living in this area. Even the depression is called the Vidra country. Vidra is a large commune, stretches over 60 square kilometers and encompasses 39 villages from heart of the Moti country, stretching through the villages and hamlets of the lower basin of Aries Mic. Here you can see houses over 150 years old, Pisoaia Falls, Hill with Sands, Gorge of Morii valley, wooden and stone churches from the 17th-18th centuries and several unexplored caves.
