Map of Făgăraş mountains: Capra cottage-Fereastra Zmeilor

We leave the tourist lodge and cross the bridge over Capra brook. We turn right on the transfagarasan highway and follow it for 1.5 km to a bridge.then we turn to a path along Fundul Caprei brook.
After half an hour we cross the brook and start climbing first on a grassy slope, then along an arid, rocky bed. After a rugged ascendt we reach Fundul Caprei cauldron where near the old cottage was built in 2010 a new one. We proceed north-east and reach the main ridge at the Arpasului gate near the Fereastra Zmeilor (Dragons window). Here we meet the main ridge trail.
