Map of Făgăraş mountains: Piscul Negru-Paltinului saddle
The blue dot and blue triangle trail starts at Piscul Negru, travels through Capra valley into the woods, 1/2 hour from start we reach at a forester house. Heigher in the realm of juniper trees the road leading to Lacul Călțun takes another course.
We climb to the cauldron, detour the west side and enter on its eatern side of Paltinul valley. Here we intersect with the blue cross route:
In order to avoid a swampy area we have to climb a rugged section to reach Paltinului saddle, where we meet the red streak trail.
