Map of Retezat mountains: Buţii gorge
The Buta brook springs from the southern part of the Retezat Mountains and flows into the Western Jiu. Before the shed, there are the spectacular keys: Butii Gorge. Its slopes are very steep, the walls reach up to 100 m high, have numerous surploms and river marmites.
It is the paradise of climbers and speleologists as it offers a true network of caves, springs, waterfalls and natural dams. It is also an ideal place for extreme sports lovers.
