The original Economat Building was a modest house, but it was soon rebuilt in German style with 52 rooms. It hosted the honourables and the employees of the royal court. The Economat just like the other buildings annexed to the castle functions as a hotel. The Guard's Chambers, which was built in the same time as the castle, also became a hotel. It was rebuilt in the German Renaissance style in between 1908-1909. It functioned as the residence of members of the royal personnel every time the king visited Sinaia. Since 1890 it also houses the telephone centre. The exact size of the royal escort is not known, but it is estimated to 100 persons.
