The cave is situated in the Barsa cauldron, accessible through the yellow strip of land.
The Black lake or the "lake without a bottom", originally called Tăul fără fund de la Ocoale is round-shaped. It is 14m deep, being sustained by a spring, its water oozing to a brook situated somewhat lower down.
