Map of Cehu Silvaniei: Reformed church

Medieval Catholic church from Cehu Silvaniei was built in 1519, with royal judge Drágffy János support. Only few elements remained: gothic entrace under the tower, sacristy door's frame, sanctuary, one of its window two symbols placed at ceiling's ribs intersection. The Drágffys symbol has the moon and arrow in centre and two stars with 6 side peaks, The Jakcs symbol is a bear paw which comes aut from the crown. In 1530 church and its parishioners converted to reformed religion
Churhc burnt by general Basta in 1601, was rebuilt up until 1604. Tower of 40 m with 4 little towers built in 1614 by Prépostvári Zsigmond and his wife Szécsi Katalin was demolished in 1869, replaced with baroque tower with methalic spire, it can be seen today.
In tower are 2 bells, the old one made in 1493. Pulpit was built in 1806, in 1905 north side nave was built, the crypt under the sanctuary was closed. Two funerary boards carved with year 1503 și 1778 were moved on left an wright side of the tower. Organ was bought in 1806 and enlarged in 1906.
